With Thanksgiving later this week, we thought it would be a great time to release our latest American Makers feature. Liberty Tabletop is a flatware brand manufactured under Sherrill Manufacturing, based in Sherrill, New York.
Sherrill Manufacturing (SMI) was founded in 2005 when partners Matt Roberts and Greg Owens purchased the flatware manufacturing assets & facility from Oneida Ltd. The factory itself dates back to the 1800's and at one time was the largest flatware manufacturing facility in the world. In 2012, Sherrill Manufacturing started manufacturing and promoting their own brand, Liberty Tabletop and sales have been growing rapidly as more people discover "America's Flatware Company", the only manufacturer of stainless steel flatware in the United States.
Liberty Tabletop offers high quality 18-10 stainless flatware in for price categories ranging from the SMI line to the LUX line. They sell direct via their website, avoiding huge retail markups, and pride themselves on being competitive with imported products - from low wage and under-regulated countries. As the only manufacturer of flatware in the United States they are proud to carry on the over 100 year tradition of flatware making in Sherrill, New York, also known as the "Silver City".
